What to include in your Research & Planning blog!

Hey kids! Wondering what to include in your Research & Planning blog? Wonder no more!


This is a list of what to include in your R&P . More may be added!

RESEARCH

·         Brief – describe the brief.

·         Thriller Conventions – what are they? Are there sub-genres?

·         Target audience – who watches Thrillers?

·         Analysis of similar products – explore one thriller you have seen and how it conforms to or subverts the typical conventions. Can you embed trailers or clips? Sound files?

·         Todorov’s narrative Theory – explain it (diagram?), show it in a film you have seen.

·         Propp’s Character Theory – explain it, show it in a film you have seen.

·         Camera shots – how they convey meaning and maybe find examples from films you have seen.

·         What you have learned.

PLANNING

·         Initial ideas and inspirations – what did you discuss and why?

  • Embed your continuity task - what did you learn?
 

·         Influences – positive and negative

·         Target audience

·         Characters (Propp)

·         Narrative (Todorov)

·         Locations

·         Sound – music, dialogue (music cannot be copyright protected)

·         Final decisions and ideas

·         Actors

·         Storyline, narrative
